THE DIARY OF EVE
Premiere: December 9, 2018 / Sara Duchonay, soprano; Hilary Griffiths, piano / All Saint's Anglican Church / Cologne, Germany
Instrumentation: High Voice & Piano; instrumentation in progress
Text: Mark Twain
Based on the writings of Mark Twain, this quirky, humorous love story reveals the roots of a life-long love. Eve thinks of herself as an "experiment," at whose core is a love of all things beautiful. She is intrigued by another "experiment" shaped like a carrot; it may be a reptile, but is possibly a man. The two learn to live with, and depend upon, each other, especially when forced out of their private paradise.
